1 . Lecture
In this lecture, I learned about Double Exposure and Blend Modes in Photoshop. I understood how multiple images can be combined to create creative and emotional visual effects. The lecture also introduced techniques such as silhouettes, shadows, textures, and black-and-white effects to make compositions more artistic.
I also learned how to use Blend Modes like “Screen” to combine images more naturally. Overall, this lesson helped me improve my creativity and understand how Photoshop can be used to create unique and imaginative photo compositions.

PART 2 (MY OWN DOUBLE EXPOSURE ):
The inspiration for this artwork comes from the idea of expressing emotions and the inner world of a person. I used a double exposure style to combine fire, ocean waves, and a rose inside the silhouette portrait to create a strong emotional contrast. The fire on the left side represents passion, anger, energy, and strength, while the ocean waves on the right side symbolize calmness, loneliness, and deep thoughts. These two opposite elements create a balance inside the same person. The rose in the center acts as the main focus of the artwork, representing love, vulnerability, and true emotions hidden inside. Through the contrast between fire and water, I wanted to show the complexity of human emotions. Even though the elements are completely different, they coexist together, just like how people can have both emotional and rational sides within themselves.
4.Reflections:
This week, I learned how to create Double Exposure effects in Photoshop by using blend modes, masking, and silhouette compositions. At first, I only understood the basic idea of combining two images together, but during the practice, I learned how different visual elements can create emotion and storytelling in one artwork.
For my own double exposure project, I combined fire, ocean waves, and a rose inside a human silhouette. The fire represents strong emotions and energy, while the ocean represents calmness and deep thoughts. The rose in the center symbolizes emotions and inner feelings. Through this artwork, I wanted to show the contrast between different emotions that can exist inside one person.
During the editing process, I also improved my Photoshop skills, especially using layer masks, blend modes, and adjusting lighting effects to make the composition look more natural. One challenge I faced was balancing the background and making the silhouette stand out clearly. However, after experimenting with colors, glow effects, and composition, I was able to create a more dramatic and artistic result. Overall, this project helped me become more creative and gave me a better understanding of how Double Exposure can be used to express emotions and ideas visually.
